I don't know Newfster  if they married in 1831 they had two children before they got married but there is a bit of age gap between Mary 1828 and her sister who was born in 1831, so I have come to think that William was married twice first time in 1821 to a Ann and she died sometime between 1829 and 1830 then her remarried to another Ann in 1831 and William did not give his true age on the census.

It look like I will have to get one of her sister birth cert but that wont help to find out who Mary mum was tho if he did marry twice

well, wouldnt logic say that post 1831 kids had the 2nd wife as Mum ? - so if the Birth Cert matches the 2nd marriage - you have a good possibility that Mary's mum was the 1st one you conjectured - or am I losing it ?

The 2 marriages - were the wives both named in full ?

I don't know were Ann was in 1851 but William died in Jan 1851, I have only got my 2x great grandmother Mary on the 1861 census and onwards once she got married

Is it possible that this is your Mary, working as a servant in Balderton, Nottinghamshire (Ref H0107/2138, Folio 57, page 44).

No Newfster I think I am the one losing it at the moment It looks like I am going to have to search to see if he did marry twice or not.

Kath that could be my Mary

There is a death registration for a Ann Watkin in the same quarter (Jan-Mar 1851), as William Watkin, but a different registration district (Mansfield) - possibly your 3x g grandmother.

What was the name and year of birth of William and Ann's youngest child, will try and find them on the 1851.
