Hi - new to this site, I was searching the www for references to the Redmile family from Tinwell, Rutland (or Redmill as some of them became known as later on) and just found your messages from Aug 08 - these were some of my ancestors and I can fill in a couple of things for you - William's birthplace, Luxtord, is actually Laxton, and also they had another son, Rowland Redmile (named after his grandfather), born 1825 also in Laxton, Northamptonshire who was my 3xgt. grandfather but who had moved away by the time this 1851 census was taken and was an army groom (probably due to his blacksmith background) and was based at the Woolwich Arsenal where my g.g.grandmother Louisa was born.  We were always told that he was involved in the Charge of the Light Brigade!  He was recorded in the 1881 census as being a Chelsea pensioner and died in 1890 in Pewsey, Wiltshire.  He married Sarah Houps (b. Penton Mewsey, Hampshire) on Christmas Day 1856 in Greenwich.

Hope this helps, a bit belated though!

Souxicl
