WWII Medal Card

My Grandfather, Gunner John Peppardn (enlisted Belfast, served from 2.10.1941 until 09.01.1946) served with the Royal Arty during WWII.  I know he served in India but can't find anything else, his number was 1127747, can anyone enlighten me as to where and with what units he might have served
