Hi Chris :)

From what I can see it looks very similar. I just wish I could make the badge clearer and maybe try the badges on his collar. I will have a go later to see if I can improve the photo.

Let's hope someone out there can confirm. I can try and see if there is a uniform on the web that is from the Royal Naval School of Music.

Hi Chis

Thank you for the link, I will have a good read. I have tried to enlarge the image to see the face of the 'base' player. (Hope I have my instrument named correctly) ;D but haven't been able to do so. I agree the uniform does look the same.

Thank you to all who have replied and tried to help me with this. I will now be able to confirm to his ancestors that the bandsman is most likely to be their Leonard Sexton. How lovely for them. If it is him apparently he was a super piano player and played the piano for the silent films.

Hi Chris

That's very observant of you I hadn't noticed that. I'm sure someone will be able to tell us.

I havent seen a RM Uniform with white collars as they are usually referred to as "Blues "and the cap badge doesnt look quite right to me ??
Can you get a scan of the collar badges they should be Globe and laurel also?

Hi Ady :)

I'll try although not too clever with the scanner. The problem is the photo is not really a close up to start with. It will probably be Monday now as I have promised my grandson a trip to the seaside tommorrow come rain or shine ;D
