Bernard Watters
« on: Monday 25 August 08 21:37 BST (UK) »
Any info please on Bernard Watters, born around 1810, son of Denis Watters, (schoolmaster) and Agnes Murphy, and spouse of Mary Riley daughter of Patrick Riley, born also around 1810.  Oral family history tells of them meeting on the bridge between Blacklion, (Cavan) and Belcoo, (Fermanagh). Their first child was born in ayrshire in Scotland in 1839 but don't know if they got married in Ireland before coming to Scotland.

Thanks

theres two parish records for a birth in Co. Meath in 1806 - on Irish-roots.ie
...they could be duplicates

   Waters    Bernard    1806    Co. Meath

here are the marriages for that name located on the same site..

Church Marriage    Waters    Bernard    1814    Co. Armagh
Church Marriage    Waters    Bernard    1824    Co. Longford
Church Marriage    Watters    Bernard    1830    Co. Sligo
Church Marriage    Waters    Bernard    1840    Co. Louth

Thanks Shane for the info.

Unfortunately I have been unable to locate Bernard Waters on the Meath site, probably I am looking in the wrong place, I have all his family, (my family) on the Scottish census including his death cert. in Renfrewshire in Scotland age 80 years. I would just love to find out where he was born and where he married my great gran Helen Riley. Hope I inherited their genes!

Thanks again for taking the time.
