James COOPER bc 1858/9 - Dorset

I really need help here keep hitting a brick wall :
 My cousin and myself have been searching for this man JAMES COOPER  for so long ,but we can;t find anything before 1871

Here is what we do know he says born in 1858/9 Dorset
The first time he appears on Census is in 1871 aged 12  with family called James in Bodmin and listed as a nephew
RG10/2250/21 P36

We found everything we can about the James family
 Although not anything about head of household called HENRY JAMES born 1846 Somerset  before 1871 so if anyone can help there please.

 Information about James Cooper after 1871 but its trying to find him before 1871 I need help with.

James Cooper married Sarah Roberts 1879 Axeminster he was aged 21 his father is listed as Henry Cooper deceased a licenced Hawker
Sarah Father was Fredrick Roberts licenced Hawker
Witnesses Charles Wells & Priscilla Penfold/Pinfold

The only other information that might help is in 1891 Census in Cornwall James Cooper mother appears with him Betsy Cooper b 1818 Somerset

I want to find him before 1871 and confirm his parents & any Siblings this might then help connect him to Henry James

please all you lovely people can you help here I know its not much to go on but I have faith in you all to find him beofre 1871 I know you can do it

have you found the marriage of Betsy to Henry ?
could she be nee James?

No we haven't found anything to confirm  Betsy marriage to Henry Sorry and yes we did wonder if she was a James possible sister to Henry James but thought dates of birth were alittle wide 1818 & 1846

This is why we need help coming up blank with both

do you have his birth cert?  - presumably not  as you say he was born 1858/59 is that from census info? death info? marriage info?

i looked on Freebmd withthe following criteria input :~

1857-1856 Dorset James Cooper

these were the matches :~

Mar 1858   
Cooper  James    Sherborne  5a 371   

Mar 1859   
 COOPER  James     Wincanton  5c 586

sadly none have a middle name to deviate fromt he two but maybe the other one can be found on the census so you at least knowwhich birth cert should be your mans

 This is very interesting one thanks sue but I don;t know if its our Henry James he married in 1866 Plymouth to Selina Smith he was aged 20 then his father was listed as Samuel James Licenced Hawker so would give birth date as 1846

The one you have found makes his birth b 1848 its still possible match if he lied about his age if would have been 18 when he married and he was from Somerset so its possible
