Warmington Lodge
« on: Saturday 30 August 08 06:00 BST (UK) »
Several ancestors from Warmington appear in the 1841 census to be living at something called Warmington Lodge (see HO107/808/12 Folio 23 Page: 13).

I've been unable to trace this to a specific area or building in Warmington. Does anyone know what or where Warmington Lodge was/is?

Thank you!

Thank you, Ricky. Yes, I've checked out the website but didn't find any reference to a lodge in Warmington.

Well I'm a dummy!  :-[

Thank you, Ricky, for pointing that out.

I see from that map that the area had a number of lodges. My dictionary says that one definition of "lodge" is "a house on an estate orig. for the use of a gamekeeper, caretaker, or porter." All three of my male Davey ancestors living at Warmington Lodge in 1841 are listed as farmers on the census record.

Hello This is my first post , this is intresting as I'm looking to trace my family on my dads side ( Johnson ) and according to my late Grandad's birth certificate he was born on the 26th July 1911 at Warmington Lodge ( Albert George King Johnson ), I have been 4 times to Warmington trying to find Warmington Lodge and according to the map on the Village site it should be across from Rectory Farm  ???

I think I may be able to help.  We own a farm in Warmington, Northants. The farm house was always called The Lodge by locals but was not the actual farm name.
I am trying to find details of the historic past of the farm and farm house/buildings.
Can you get in touch and I can give you more details.
