2 Robert Peter Plumbs chr 1858 & 1860
« on: Saturday 30 August 08 22:58 BST (UK) »
Hi folks, I'm helping out someone who has the following in their tree:-

Robert Peter Plumb chr 13 Aug 1858 Holy Trinity, Milton by Gravesend
and
Robert Peter Plumb chr 14 Sep 1860 Holy Trinity, Milton by Gravesend
This Robert also had a sister Sara Elisabeth chr same date.

The parents for both were Robert Plumb and Ellen Plumb [Webster]
I have looked on CityArc and have confirmed these details from the Holy Trinity PRs.

I can't find deaths for either, at a guess I would say the first chr 1858 died young, hence the second son with the same Christian names.

Can somebody find a little more info about them than I have please  :-*

Thanks

I think I have seen here where there are two 'baptisms'.
Certainly I have seen records of a private one. I think  the reasons being if the child was sickly or I think if the family had money.
Perhaps there was a later public one - I would imagine that would be more of a blessing but not sure.
Family Search IGI has those Plumb records and there is another child in the family, Sarah Elizabeth also baptised 14 September 1860 so maybe the family celebrated these together for one of the above reasons  ???

best wishes

Hi thanks to you both.

I have been told that the family were very poor so I don't know if they would have been able to afford a private baptism. I am trying to find out from them if this was possible though.

Atm I tend to think that there were 2 and that the first died very young and that they then had another child and named him the same.

But that's only a guess. I think that I will try and search for others and then try and link back.
