Please can someone help?

I am looking for a family of DAVIS' (not Davies) who left WALES
somewhere around 1812-1813.
The family settled in the U.S. in Pennsylvannia. The most common first names (that keep repeating are.. JOSEPH, HENRY, MARY, ALICE,& SAMUEL.
YES, I KNOW THAT THE NAME DAVIS IS COMMON. and to make it worse..
I do Not know from what part of Wales they departed.


I hoped there was a departing ship which still had a log...something that I might be able to match the dates & names to.

I really dont have anything else to go on.

This is a bit of a tricky one. I've managed to trace rellies migrating to US/Canada early on but they had more unusual names and I had info on them both over here and  their subsequent movements after they arrived.

Have you got any details of the ages of the family who travelled - even a rough idea of what the parents were called and who were the children? When do you first pick them up, for sure, in the records?

Are there people over there that were also of Welsh origin with whom they mixed/intermarried?  This might give some clues.

Also, don't be too firm in the spelling of their surname - Davis and Davies are pronounced in the same way (as Dave -iss) and  their name could have been written down as pronounced at one stage and the spelling derived from that.
