Hi everyone

I have another Middleton Photographer for you.

My GG Grandfather George Middleton was registered on his daughters birth entry in 1861 as a photographer living at 80 Hutcheon Street, Aberdeen.

Can anyone shed any light on this one please ?

Hi Jen,
You were looking for photographs by your relative Middletons' Art Studio a few years ago. Well, I have just come across one in what must have been my late mother's collection of photos and was just about to throw it away when I decided to Google the address to see if it still existed. It is still in good nick.

Please don't throw away any old photographs!
If you do not want them put them to a charity shop or a Family History Society. Someone out there wants them!!
Perhaps you could scan the photo in question and post it on this board? Do you have any idea at all who is in the photo?
Are you not  interested in finding out? Perhaps there is someone on here who can help.  Got to be worth a try don't you think?

Hi Forguette,
Thanks for the advice. I'm having a general clearout and have no idea who the gentleman is - certainly not my dad! I sadly hardly even remember my mum so it didn't seem much point in keeping photos of people I don't know but would be delighted to send them to a family history society or whatever rather than bin them. I will certainly scan this photo in but will have to photocopy it first as it is too hard to go through my scanner.

Dascha - please do try to post it on here. If you take it to a camera shop, they will almost certainly be able to make a digital copy of it but whatever you do, don't throw the original away.

I am currently trying to identify a couple whose wedding photographs I found, lurking in an antiques shop on the other side of the country from their home. Someone, somwhere is related to these people and if they are interested in their family history, I have a couple of real treasures for them. The same applies to this photograph of yours.

Hi again,
I have scanned in both sides of the photo of this unknown gentleman but I keep getting told that I can't upload it, whether as a Word file or as a TIF (2.7 mb or 3.37 mbso it's not that big. The original photo is still pretty good quality, despite being stored ten years in my  garage. I'd be pleased to send the original if you are interested, but you'd have to  tell me how!

I use VSO image re-sizer, which I am fairly sure was a free download - I don't pay for anything I don't have to, being largely of Scottish and Yorkshire extraction.

If you struggle,  I am sure someone in the technical board will be able to help you.
