http://www.findmypast.com/

gives an option to search 1841, 1861, 1871, 1891 and 1901 census' by address, (although the 1901 census is not yet complete).

Hope this helps

Hi keigcf,
Didn't reply initially as I wasn't too sure if I could help, and was hoping someone more knowledgeable would come along.
On ancestry:
On the 1881 census you can search by address (+ just tried now to search for Wilderness House), and hopefully a house name.
Other thoughts in mind, but will check first and get back to you.
Hope this helps - good luck.
Paulene :)

Hi again,
Just tried this site, with the Trade Directories, and it worked for my ancestor's house:

Forgot to say to use the keyword search with 'Historical Directories'.
Some very special archives offices/local studies' libraries have various name/subject indexes, but it's a long shot.
Anyway, wish you luck.

Hi, Is it possible to search a census by the property name?

Keith, I have a subscription to The Genealogist, which has a census address search.  If you could either post the address here, or PM me with it, I will endeavour to look it up for you.  Please make sure you include the full address and county, as it would have been in 1880.

RIP 1949-10th January 2013

Best Wishes,  Nick.

There we have a slight problem, I'm only going on a spoken name Aberdroth (Don't Know correct spelling) can't find on a map, or on anything else. The farm was located between Llangurig and Llanidloes which is Montgomeryshire. Thats why I was hoping to find a site where I could search area's. Had a look on the historical directories and not had any success there.... driving me nuts!!!!
