WEBB/WINDSOR
« on: Sunday 14 September 08 11:04 BST (UK) »
Hello all,

I'm trying to locate some information about two families from the Somerset region.

Firstly is Alfred WEBB b. c 1824, South Barrow, Somerset. I need to find out his parents and siblings if possible.

I have the 1871 and 1881 census for him and his wife and children. On the 1881 census are two WEBB girls listed as "other" - Harriet and Annie, both born in South Barrow also - so I was wanting to know who they belonged to.

Alfred married Jemima WIN(D)SOR b. 19 Dec 1844, Queen Camel, Somerset. Parents were Job WIN(D)SOR and Ruth? I have 4 siblings from 1881 census and the IGI; Amelia, Harriet, George and Sarah Payne. I was wanting to know if anyone has access to prior census to add to these.

Also parents birth/marriage details if available, Job WIN(D)SOR b. 1815, Queen Camel, Somerset and Ruth b. 1819, West Camel, Somerset.

Hoping this all makes sense to you...

Fiona

it looks like harriet and Annie from 1881 are the daughters of Henry and Jemima
On original image under relationship it does not say "other" - it says nothing at all - I suspect the enumerator just missed off the relationship
In 1891 harriet is a servant and not with the family -but Anne is still at home

Snap Suz!

What puzzles me is that Alfred is 42 in 1881 and 50 in 1891, so much younger than expected ???

yes, Tati ,

I was just going to ask if Fiona has the d.o.b. incorrect.

I read his age as 52 in 1891 and have him in 1851 age 12,1841 age 2

We'd better wait for Fiona replying - as there is an Alfred Webb b.c. 1824 -but he's not married to jemima??????

I trust it's the right family but the dates are incorrect ... Jemima's parents are Job and Ruth too:

Harriet, dau, 8, scholar, b. Queen Camel

Hello all

If we are looking at Alfred b. South Barrow and Jemima Quuen camel, then I think this is the marriage:

Q2. 1865  Wincanton  Vol. 5c  P. 1001

And if these are the two, then Jemima was b. 1845 and Alfred 1839.

In 1871 there is a Silas Webb living with them b. 1837

In 1841 Silas 1837 and Alfred 1839 appear together in this family,  albeit Weeb not Webb  ???
HO107. P. 937 / 5  Fol. -  Pg. 13

South Barrow
WEEB
William  35  Ag Lab
Mary  35
Robert  14  Ag Lab
John  12  Ag Lab
Richard  9
William  7
Silas  4
Alfred  2

Hi Guys,

The birth date for Alfred I have is from the 1881 census, I also have the 1871 census but it's too unclear for me to decipher properly.... as for the birthdate of Jemima - that comes from IGI extracted record and freebmd data.

I personaly find in bizarre to have a guy nearly twenty years older than his wife!
