Evans, James, Deas and Adams - Ruthin/Gyffylliog 1850s
« on: Tuesday 16 September 08 13:43 BST (UK) »
Hi All  :)

I've been re-reading a letter which my 3 x grt grandfather wrote in December 1852. He was writing from his farm in the parish of Gyffylliog.

He refers to the following people:

David Evans, The Star Inn, Ruthin - publican/owner
Evan Evans, Glenalwen - probably a farmer
John James, Llanrhedyn - probably a farmer
also, two attorneys - a Mr Deas and Mr Adams

I'm assuming that they all lived in the broad Ruthin/Gyffylliog area

I've not researched any of these people yet but wondered if anyone had them in their tree or knew anything about them.

Regards

There was a court case in Autumn 1852  - and we lost  :o

Thanks for all this, Ricky  :)

I've decided to back up the stories in his letters with some hard evidence and find out more about his buddies  :)

Mr Adams was our lawyer and he lost the case  :(
