Uggscombe gets a mention on the "Vision of Britain " website, which gives the parishes included:

(still can't do short links ::) )

Hi, I tried Googling Philliholme and it said that  Hawkchurch (containing Philliholme Manor)was transferred to Devon in 1896.

Many thanks to you both. Hawkchurch is a parish that I have never investigated as a source of family history, so here is something new to do.
I don't know where I got Vgg..... from. I had been wondering how it would be pronounced.
Best wishes, Toby.
