    4. Ellen Emmott, b. 1818, Halton [East], Skipton
    5. Robert Emmott, b. 1820, Halton [East], Skipton
    6. Esther Emmott, b. Apr 1822, Halton [East], Skipton
    7. James Kendal Emmott, b. 1823, Halton [East], Skipton
    8. George Emmott, b. 1825, Halton [East], Skipton
    9. William Emmott, b. 1827, Halton [East], Skipton
    10. Margaret Emmott, b. 1829, Halton [East], Skipton
    11. Mary Emmott, b. 1832, Halton [East], Skipton

Apart from Robert I can't find any of them in censuses. Robert was found with some difficulty as Ematt in 1851.  Any ideas ?   There are so many Emmotts in the area around Bolton Abbey   Roy

Update . Got it  Emmet, but only gives Skipton as birth place so may not be the right one. Two listed on wharfegen site   Roy

Hi Roy

Unfortunately, Skipton might be as accuate as it gets.  They may not have expanded any more on that when giving  their place of birth.

Yes, Unfortunately many of the small villages are classed as 'Skipton '   Did find Esther Emmott 1861, unmarried and a servant listed as Halton..   Roy
