charles wade roberts to australia

Hi there,

Could some one please help me find a passenger record for a CHARLES WADE/WAID ROBERTS TO AUSTRALIA in about 1853, with wife Sarah Ann and three children.  He was born about 1805/8 in Kent.

I wonder if the following from Victorian BDM are connected…..

Clara Emily Wade ROBERTS born in 1857 in Melbourne
Father = Charles Francom ROBERTS & Mother = Sarah Ann WADE
Ref = 13851

Henry Wade ROBERTS born in 1862 at Richmond
Father = Charles ROBERTS & Mother = Sarah Ann WADE
Ref = 10678

Henry Wade ROBERTS born Richmond died aged 2 months in 1862
Father =Charles Fran ROBERTS & Mother = Sarah Ann WADE
Ref = 7411

Added.....I don't think so ....I have now found the marriage of Charles to Sarah Ann Wade in 1852. But I'll leave the above details just in case.

I've found a death of a Charles Waid Roberts in Victoria in 1861 aged 56. Right age.....but says born in Hull. Ref = 6248
Parents = John ROBERTS and Elizabeth POLLET

Hi there.
Charles came to Victoria.  He had married Sarah Ann Eastes in 1835 in Dover, Kent. His children were Charles Waid B1837 Dover, Sarah Ann B1839 Dover and Rosina B1841 London.  His children died in Victoria.  Sarah Ann died in Warrnambool, Victoria. in 1895.
Charles was son of John Roberts and Elizabeth Polhill.  There seems to be two sources regarding this man.  My Charles was born 1808 supposedly Dover, and was master mariner. he captained the ship Columbine in 1840 and had his brother George Henry on board as a mater.  George Henry settled in Port Elizabeth, while Charles went back to the UK before making his way to Australia in 1853.

So the Charles Waid death I have found could well be the one you are looking for? (with consideration for the recording of the time, the informant's knowledge, and transcription mistakes).

Hi there,

The death could very well be him, but not sure of the wife and children.  Perhaps they came across at a different time? Could you look for them for me? 
It would have been:
Sarah Ann Roberts, B1814 (Mother, and wife to Charles)
Charles Wade/Waid Roberts B1837 (son)
Sarah Ann Roberts B1839 (daughter)
Rosina Roberts B1841 (daughter)

I found two marriages for women by the name of Rosina Roberts.....
one married a Thomas WILKINS in 1858, ref = 2659

and the other married a Robert LEEMING in 1862, ref = 1982.

You would need to get a copy of the marriage certificate to know for sure if one of these was your Rosina. You can get a digital image online cheaper than a paper copy if that is what you wanted to do.

I'll have a look for the others.
