Lost Marriage - Thomas Horn
« on: Thursday 25 September 08 19:37 BST (UK) »
Hello there

I am trying to find the marriage of Thomas Horn of Aston Clinton Bucks to Ann ??? before 1815.

In the 1851 she states her place of birth as Hook Hampshire (presumably the Odiham one) and I have failed to find a marriage in Buckinghamshire.

There IS one in the right period but it is for a Thomas Horn to an Elizabeth Windmill - it is possible that the first name is incorrect or that she was a closet Elizabeth Ann Windmill.

If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful

Where was the first child born?  I can't see anything obvious at the moment.

There is a second Hook down near Warsash.

Hi Nell

The first child I've found, John,  was born in Ivinghoe, Bucks in 1815 as were all of the others, but because I have no marriage I can't be sure that there are no earlier children.  Thomas would be 25 in 1815 and Ann 28 so there is certainly the possibility of earlier births too.

Thanks for checking Nell.

Could you tell me if Windmill is a Hampshire name?

No, it's not that common in Hampshire.  I can only find one family in the early 1800s.
