Hi Gerry

Baptisms in Langley:
Five children for a Thomas & Mary between 1754-1767, & one, in 1751 for a Thomas & no mother's name shown.

1754 16th September  John  son of Thomas & Mary COLLISON.
Note: Private Baptism.
Usually a private baptism indicates a poorly baby not expected to live & so baptised quickly.

1767  13th September  John  son of Thomas & Mary COLLISON.

The odd thing is that, between 1578-1971, there were only two burials for Collison, in 1865 & 1866, even though there were 19 baptisms. I wonder where they all went? ???

It's not much, but I hope it helps.

 :)
Betty

Hi Betty :)

Thanks for the information that does seem to answer one question and ask a few more. It does suggest that they moved, but where?

I'll keep looking and if its OK with you I'll keep checking back with you for validation. ;)

Take care

That's OK, Gerry, I'm happy to help where I can.
I must admit I'm curious as to where they all went to ;D

Hi Betty :) & Bearkat 8)

Can you please sort something out for me. John & Elizabeth had TWO Williams (i) William SANS Collison and (ii) William GEORGE Collison, you have given me a baptism for William (i) in Headcorn as 24 Feb 1793, can you confirm he died the same year?
Can you give me any details on William (ii) I have a DoB of 1819.

Many Thanks as always
Gerry

Hi Gerry

All Headcorn.
There's a William baptised 21 Nov 1819, his parents are Reuben & Ann.
Another William 6th July 1823, parents John & Mary Ann.
The only William George was baptised in 1888.

There's one Burial for a William Collison, 9th July 1793, no age given, under Notes it says Youth.

Not sure if that helps much :(

Looking at the Baptisms for the children of John & Elizabeth, the first one is in 1782, then a gap until 1793 then fairly regularly until 1806. That could, of course, be two couples, the first just having one child.
For John & Elizabeth to have another child in 1819, after a gap of 13 years, doesn't seem very likely, unless they moved away, had more children, then came back.
If so, she must have married very young. If it's the same couple, starting in 1782, then it's highly unlikely.

Hi Betty :D

Sorry I gave you his date of Death which is 1819 his date of Birth is 1798, this is why I need people like you checking my work and making sure I don't do things like this too often.

So recap (i) William Sans brn c1793 died same year (could be your burial 9th July 1793) ??
(ii) William George brn c1798 baptises 1801 died c1819 in Michigan, If so how can I find out when he left for Michigan ??
Parents should be John & Elizabeth ??
Does that make more sense ??

Sorry I know I'm a pain but thanks for your help and could you look again for me?

Thanks
