Hi Belinda.

It's only when those senile moments continue for a few hours, rather than a few minutes, that you really have to worry!

As to your Cornelius. There's a Killally East and a Killally West in Kilworth parish, in north east Cork. The parish records, which can be viewed on microfilm at the National Library in Dublin, date from 1809 (baptism) and from 1757 (marriages), so you're unlikely to find his baptism record if he was born in 1798 but you might find his parents' marriage.

The North Cork Heritage Centre should be able to help you (they'll charge): www.irish-roots.ie/mallow.asp. (For some reason the dates they publish on their webpage are different to those that the National Library says are available. I don't understand why.) If you do an online search of their records, they have a church baptism for a Cornelius Collins in their region for 1795. Might not be him, of course, but probably worth spending 5Euros to see!

Good luck with your research.
