Lookup request - John Thomas Wright born 1880 in Sedgeley

I am looking for a John Thomas Wright who was born in Sedgeley around 1880. John Thomas Wright may have moved with his parents to Northampton probably to find work in the shoe trade.

John married Annie Rebecca Tarry in 1909 in St.James End, Northampton. I imagine at the time John was named after his father which may have been another John Wright. Any help with this one I would really appreciate. cheers Richard

That looks very promising, thank you for your efforts, I will have to speak to my Great Uncle and see what he thinks as this might be a bit of a breakthrough, he has been looking for a long time and not getting anywhere.

The same people are there in the 1901 census and some other girls but no John Thomas Wright as this may well fit in with him going to Northampton. I got the wrong date with John Thomas Wright's marriage it was 1904.

Do you have anything on the marriage of John & Sarah?

I've not been able to find a marriage for them in Dudley, which is the registrations district for Sedgeley.  There was a John Wright married to a Sarah Hill in 1879 in Dudley, but I'm fairly sure that wasn't them,  because on the 1881 census John is lodging in Walsall - he is a Puddler, born Sedgeley  - and he is unmarried.

In order to pin down a possible marriage in another registration district, therefore, I think you will need one of the children's birth certificates to find Sarah's maiden name.

Could the note that says John is unmarried be wrong?

Logically the 1879 marrige would be right if John Thomas was b 1880 as it lists him as 11 on the 1891

Yes - I agree that's the most logical   

I looked at that - and there is a John Thomas Wright registered Dudley Q2. 1880. 

However, I can't find a Sarah Wright, or a John Thomas Wright, born Sedgeley on the 1881; ( except Sarah b. 1861 who is there on previous census - daughter or grand-daughter.)

There are two possible Sarah Hills b. Sedgley on the 1871 - either of which could be the one who married John Wright in 1879 -

If your theory is correct - and I agree it is a good one - then where are Sarah and John Thomas in 1881 ?  Can you spot them ?
