baptism Fen Stanton c 1816

Seeking baptism of Joshua Harradine (c 1816 from 1841 census/Fenstanton). I assume him to be the son of Joshua Harradine and Mary Young who married in 1799 at Fen Stanton. The IGI shows 5 children of this couple born between 1805 and 1821 but Joshua not among them

Careful! Not all Fen Stanton baptisms have been extracted onto the IGI, no males for a start,  so what you see are member submissions, which can be highly unreliable.

However they have been extracted onto the BVRI and these 5 entries between 1805 and 1821 are OK, but there's still  no Joshua born c1816. The pattern seems unusual though, for a couple who married in 1799 - big gap until the first baptism in  1805, then 1809-1811-1818-1821

It doesn't appear as though there were any other Harradine couples having children in Fen Stanton at around 1816 - David and Sarah who married in 1805 baptised one daughter in 1806 and then apparently disappeared as I can't see burials for either, or any other children baptised, nor can I see them in a census. But I don't think you can necessarily rule them out.

Do you have the witnesses from the 1837 marriage to see if they provide any clues?

Hi,
David and Sarah baptised a son Joshua 26 Jan 1812 Oakington he was buried 19 Jan 1819 and they then baptised another son Joshua on 24 Nov 1822 also in Oakington.
David was buried 29 June 1823 age 38 in Oakington.

Joshua married in Fen Stanton to Elizabeth Witherow in 1837 so unlikely to be the one baptised in 1822 unless he was baptised as an adult. Any more info?

still favour the Joshua/ Mary marriage but possibly there were other children filling the gaps from neighbouring Humts parishes not on IGI

In 1851 in Oakington Joshua 29 and wife Rebecca so he wasn't the one who married in 1837.

But David and Sarah wouldn't have named a son Joshua in 1822 if they had a son Joshua still living, so I think Tempsford's find leaves the field clear for Joshua and Mary to be the parents.

There are no other Joshua Harradines on the BVRI.

Have you checked with Huntingdon Records Office to see if Joshua senior left a will?
