Help! Richard Head Sussex
« on: Monday 31 January 05 16:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi can ayone help ? I'm looking for information about Richard Head. I think he may have been from East Grinstead. He married a Sarah Butland of Ramsgate, from the 1881 Census I know she is a widow born in Ramsgate in 1820.  I think they moved to Hull. I think Richard was a fisherman possibly on Smacks. They had at least two children George b ab 1854 and my GG grandfather John b ab1850.

Regards
Diane

Hi Rowdy / Hi Diane

Yes, I think this must be them too - living at 5 James Place, Hull, Sarah shown as widowed, working as dressmaker, son George shown as unmarried, printer.

Possible co-incidence, but next door is Margaret Head, wife, married, 19, Fisherman's wife, born Boston Lincs together with Ann Mudd, wife, married, 20, fisherman's wife, born Hull.

cheers

Paul
