« on: Wednesday 08 October 08 11:12 BST (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for some help trying to find my 3xGt Grand mother please. I think the detail in the Subject area above are correct. She married William Waters 31 Oct 1842 in Greatworth. In 1841 she was a servant in Marston St Lawrence /Middleton Cheney for a Mr Temperance Austin.
I would love to find her parents or any other family members
Thank you for reading this

Purchase of her marriage certificate would give father's name and occupation
also witnesses may give further clues

The witnesses were Richard Humphris and Amos Barrott. I have been looking around the area and see a Humphris family from King Sutton which is close enough but whilst I see a Richard I dont see one the 'right ' age!!

 Jane may have been illegit but William wasn't. He was B 1.9.1814 son of Samuel B 1776 D 1858 and Elizabeth ???? B1781 D 1850.
I did find another Stranks in Greatworth but recall the name it was a male and I thought the age was right to have been a brother or cousin?
I would so appreciate any help at all.
Thank you
Nigel

I found William's baptism - I suppose the father's names weren't entered as the couple would be "of full age" - and maybe William's father was deceased - they omitted them sometimes - I think it was to make searching
difficult for us!!!!

I'm working on some other ideas at the moment -will post census etc when I have sorted them - I have found  Humphrey and barratt families living next door in Greatworth -also have a Stranks family in Greatworth.
I have quite a lot of notes in front of me - and am now trying to find baptisms and marriages to see if there is any connection to the Stranks family .

Thought maybe janes mum married into one of the families??
Or a sister ?

Have to go out shortly -ut will e back on later tonight.

Maybe if you put a post out for parish reg baptisms in Greatworth for jane???

Jane is a spinster on marriage cert????????

See ya later
