Aylesford help
« on: Monday 13 October 08 13:27 BST (UK) »
Hi

In the IGI there is an emtry for Mary Furminger chr 5/1/1777 at Aylesford

Marriage to Thomas Evernden 18/8/1801 Boxley.

There is a very good chance she is one of my clan, but she never popped up the last time I did a search of the PR's at Canterbury.

If anyone has access to the Aylesford PR's I would love to know who her parents were.

Thank you
Adrian

Pauline

Thanks.

I had forgotten to cross that out on my notes, as I already had that information. What I should have asked was the birth / Marriage record of Thomas and Susanna.  ::)

Not as confused as me  ;D

Mary Furminger married Thomas Evernden.

Mary's parents probably are Thomas Furminger and Susanna Scotchford but I need this confirmed as I only have IGI data to make this link.

What I wanted to confirm was the birth date of Thomas Furminger (which should be 1747  - They all seem to be either Thomas or John in my direct line) and his marriage to Susannah was 17/8/1775 at Aylesford

Regards
Adrian

From Aylesford parish registers

Thomas FURMINGER was baptised Oct ye 4th 1747 son of John & Elizabeth

Thomas FURMINGER, batchelor, married Susanna SCOTCHFORD, spinster, by Banns
on 17 August 1775      both signed their names
Witnesses  X John CROHUST (?CROWHURST)
                     X Ann TANNERS

Also found this marriage
Richard FURMINGER to Catherine ?TRILL 20 October 1777 by Banns
witnesses Ann  ???????
John ?CROWHUST
The writing is not brilliant in these early registers.

Thanks for that it confirms a lot.

Richard is Thomas's younger brother, according to my info the witnesses were Ann Brooks and Joseph Crohurst.
Agree the bride was Trill.

I have been trying to get hold of a copy of the Ayleford PR's but cannot find them available.

If you have easy access can you see who the parents of Mary bap. 5/1/1777 are.

ok  :'(

I appreciate you taking the time to look those up for me.

Will have to put it on my list of things to do next time I am down at Maidstone. Big problem I get is I start with a list of goals and then stuble accross something new and exciting and before I now it its closing time.  ::)
