Hi I wonder if any one can help me please?
I have a family of BINT whose children were christened in Besselsleigh in the late 1700's early 1800's. Their parents were William Bint and Emmy, Emmar, Emy, depending on how it has been written /transcribed. I am trying to find where William and his wife may have originated from?
The children were
Phillip B 1785 Bapt 15 Jan 1786
John B Dec 1792 Bapt 23 Dec 1792
William B 1795 Bapt 14 June 1795
Rosannah B March 1798 Bapt 8 April 1798
Hannah B 1800 Bapt 12 Oct 1800
Phillip B May 1804 Bapt 4 June 1804 - Died 18 July 1889
William B 1805 Bapt 1805 in 1851 he was in Howden Yorkshire and 1881 Union Workhouse Abingdon
I believe the first John and William both died fairly young
I do know the dad William was a Shoemaker.
If anyone can offer any help on where I may find parents William and Emmy etc I would be so pleased/ Ther is another family of Bints from the same time period with similar names at near by Shinfield though.

Hi Nigel,

           Checking baptisms on PRs for Besselsleigh for Williams children it says mother Emy

of St Helens Abingdon. I checked Abingdon St Helens PRs and found this marriage.

 13 Dec 1784 William Bint to Amy Buckingham.

 What do you think? i can see if baptisms for these are on there if you want.

I did check both Besselsleigh and Cumnor for a marriage for William but found nothing.

Both the above villages are very close to Abingdon.

 Nigel.... I just checked baptisms at Besselsleigh and all ok except this one

  12 Oct 1800 Hannah Bint dau of William and Lucy of Appleton.

  Where did you get your info from?

Gender:    Female
Christening Date: 12 Oct 1800
Christening Place:Besselsleigh, Berkshire, England
Father's Name:    William Bint
Mother's Name:    Emy

I like that one you have just put on. I reckon that is her don't you. But what about hannah d of William and Lucy - same date as the one I have. How is that explained?

  I dont know on the Hannah but i will check Appleton PRs and Besselsleigh to see if there

 is a marriage or anything to help you.

 Meanwhile i have just found this baptism on Appleton PRs which is also very close to Bess,

 Cumnor etc

 Jun 14 1761 William and Joanna Bint, son and dau of William and Susannah.

 There are a few children to this couple and the date seems to fit for William
