Church Oakley PRs

Could anyone please help with a look up for the name Goddard in the Church Oakley PRs from before 1700?

I have a 1701 marriage in Brimpton, Berks for Eleanor Goddard of Brimpton & Richard Curle(Currell) of Thatcham.

Eleanor was baptised in Bucklebury in 1679, daughter of Henry & Eleanor Goddard. However, I've never been able to find any likely siblings or a marriage for her parents in this part of Berks.

Now that I've obtained a copy of the 1701 marriage entry, I can see that there's a marriage for a John Goddard of Church Oakley on the same page and in the same year. Looking at the map, Brimpton is only about 15 miles away.

It could just be coincidence but I'm wondering if this could be Eleanor's brother and if there are any more Goddards to be found in Church Oakley.

As the Church Oakley PRs aren't on the IGI (like a lot of Hampshire parishes) I'd be very grateful if anyone was able to do a look up for me for any likely siblings and, if possible, for a marriage between Henry Goddard & Eleanor (Unknown).

I have looked at Church Oakley PRs and although they are difficult to read I found that there were three baptisms

20Mar1665 Margaret Goddard d/o John
Jul1679   Ann Goddard d/o John
8Feb1672   Mary d/o John
so a bit close to your bapt in Bucklebury.

Also a burial
23Jul1668 Margaret Goddard d/o John
and also
17Apr1701 Margaret Goddard w/o John so the marriage you saw might be a second for John

Thanks for coming to my rescue! The information you've given me doesn't appear to be relevant to my Goddard family on first viewing, but I'll dig a bit deeper.

At least it will answer that nagging query!!
