if you google batch numbers igi - you can find a complete list of Northumbrian batchs nos. However i can't find CO17680 at all   ???

By putting England, the batch number and a common surname (Smith) into the IGI I get the answer Newcastle upon Tyne.  This doesn't really help because Newcastle had four parishes in the 1850s all of which went back a long way.

Perhaps the batch covers all four parishes,

I know it is very frustrating. However as you pointed out Newcastle covered 4 parishes I think it's a case of searching the other 3 as I've already looked at All Saints. I will give it a go.

ive had a look on the bishop[s transcripts at all parishes - St. Andrew / john / ann / All saints - and can't find her.
