I've had a look around and John Watkin Jones can be traced through the census years, but in 1901 he's married to Annie - the other female on page 168 is Annie Harries.

66 Queen St, Nantyglo & Blaina, RG13/4934 folio 72 pg 31
John W Jones head mar 26 colliery clerk
Annie wife 25
both born Nantyglo
John's parents are at 71 Queen St.

Possibly this marriage?

Ann mother-in-law widow 63 living on parish pay b. Carmarthenshire, Caio

Hi Osprey
Sorry sorry sorry !!!!!!
Its quite obvious to me today that more thought was needed prior to posting this topic.  I was too hasty in assuming the marriage as posted.

What we got in 1901 is:
1901 Census @ 8 James St, Brithdir
John Jones   head   26   coal hewer   born Old Tumble   Mon
Sarah   wife   25   born Old Tumble   Mon
John   son   01   Nantyglo   Mon

Possibly this marriage?
John Jones june qtr 1899 Bedwellty vol 11a pg 202 with Sarah Hughes on the same page

Maybe it would be less confussing if I was to ask to locate the son John Jones born Nantyglo 1900 with parents John & Sarah.

Thanks
Roy

Ok, I'm confused now. The son John born 1900 you have in 1901 and he wouldn't be on the 1891.  I have tried to find the family group from 1891 on the 1901 census, but can't spot an entry with any 2 of the group together.
