Marriage at Bythorn lookup please
« on: Sunday 19 October 08 10:35 BST (UK) »
The IGI has an extracted record of the marriage of Robert GREEN and Rhode CUNNINGTON at Bythorn 2nd May 1822.

If this is on the Hunts marriage index, could SKS tell me if it says whether the bride is a widow or spinster, and where the couple are from?  (IGI and BVRI have her name as Rhode - but it may be Rhoda or Rose).

Many thanks in advance for any help with this.

Nothing extra I'm afraid, so the assumption must be that they were bachelor and spinster and both otp - if the parish register had included any other detail then it would show in the index. But if the PR failed to mention that Rhode was a widow then obviously the Index couldn't mention it

There was also a Rachel Cunnington married in Bythorn in 1822, to Joel Benson, on the same day per the IGI. As before, both otp and assumed to be bachelor and spinster

Many thanks for that, David - and the extra lookup for Rachel.   I was wondering whether Rhode was Rachel's mother Rose, but perhaps not.  Rachel had sisters, but not a Rhode/Rhoda as far as I can see.

Thank you for your kind assistance.
