Southrepps baptism lookup please (HEWITT)
« on: Monday 27 October 08 22:08 GMT (UK) »
Would someone be so kind as to lookup one or more of the following baptisms:
Frederick Hewitt (circa 1882)
George Isaac Hewitt (circa 1884)
James Edward Hewitt (circa 1887)
Arthur Hewitt (circa 1889)
Charles Hewitt (circa 1891)

I believe their parents are Isaac and Harriett and I am particularly interested in Harriett's maiden name.

Thanks

Hi Gary,

Have you looked at the Freereg site?  Northrepps has a lot of baptisms, possibly one of yours, an Ellen Hewitt, baptised 20 July 1879 to an Isaac and Harriet Hewitt, but doesn't give mother's maiden name.

Unfortunately, their index seems to stop just as your Hewitts were being born!
How typical is that?

Anyway, here's the link if you haven't already seen it.

Good luck,

Thanks but I am already aware of FreeREG and like you say, typically Southrepps baptisms end in 1880 which is just before the years I am interested in.
