Swiss Ancestors

Can anyone give me any pointers regarding tracing Swiss ancestors? My ancestor settled in England sometime between 1840 and 1870. The census returns only refer to Switzerland as their place of birth. I would like to know more. Thanks.

Can you give us any names?

Also, can you tell us where they settled in England?

You may be lucky and they may have naturalisation records that would give you information on their origin.
