I don't think it is wholly complete but freecen http://www.freecen.org.uk/cgi/search.pl only appears to have three of William Pratt in scotland born 1823 +/- 2 yrs in the 1841 census.

Many thanks.  The "problem" is that William spent lived and died in England.  English bmd certificates are not as comprehensive as Scottish ones so I'm after further evidennce that I have the right one.  I have narrowed my search down to either Old Machar or Fife but so far no luck in either.
