1861 Theddlethorpe St Helens Lookup - CHATTERTON
« on: Thursday 03 February 05 09:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Could someone look up the 1861 census for the following families:

Charles CHATTERTON b. 1826 Little Cawthorpe Lincs
Editha Ann Chatterton (wife b. 1824 Langton by Partney, Dalby Lincs
Thomas Chatterton (son b. 1848 Theddlethorpe St Helens Lincs

Also

Charles CHATTERTON (b. 1794 Louth, Lincs)
Susannah Chatterton (wife b. 1791 Muckton, Lincs)
Susannah Chatterton (dau b. 1836 Little Cawthorpe Lincs)

They should both be in Theddlethorpe St Helens for the 1861 census, the first family should be there in the 1851 census too.

Thank you  :)

Hi Wendy,

Thank you so much for your replies.  The families you found are all related to my Charles Chatterton with the exception of John Chatterton b. Legbourne and his family.

I am intrigued that neither Charles Chatterton were in Theddlethorpe for the 1861 census as Charles Chatterton senior was buried in Thedlethorpe St Helens in Sept 1861 and Charles Chattertom junior's wife Editha was buried there in Mar 1862. I guess they must have been somewhere else nearby perhaps?

Thanks for your help with the 1851 census though it was much appreciated  ;D

Hi, My name is Joshua, I have a good interest in Genealogy and archeology. I have found that I am a descendant of Arthur Chatterton, son of John Chatterton, son of Charles Chatterton, (Arthur Moved to New Zealand, where I am currently). I have their birth dates and I think most of their family? Do you know anyone related to the Chattertons, could you pleeeaassee help! I have so many questions, also I am writing a book on the family. My email address is (*) also if you would rather contact me on there. I have seen these messages, they are all from many years ago! I really hope there are still some people on here and can chat!
Kindest regards, Joshua Keijsers

Hi Joshua,

Welcome to Rootschat  ;)

Yeah, despite these messages being from ~15yrs ago, I am still around  ;D

Are you referring to Charles Chatterton (1794-1861) & Susannah Neal (1791-1868), their son John Chatterton (1817-1901) & Eliza Forman, and their son Arthur Chatterton (born 1839)?

If so we are definitely related...I descend from Charles & Susannah's son Charles Chatterton (1826-1891) & Editha Ann Cole.

Thanks for passing on your e-mail address, I am happy to correspond and share information. I will send you a personal message though, as the moderators will likely remove your e-mail from this thread to try and prevent spam.

Jenny

P.S. I'm in Australia, as my Chatterton's came out here ;)

Hi Jen! I'm so happy your still around! How do you descend from Charles and Susannah, can I see a family tree of yours or something like that to see our relation? Also please do send an email, it might be easier to chat through that. I have a huge 51, 932 large family tree that I have created last year at My Heritage, I have and still am working extra hard on the Chattertons. If you send me your email through Gmail, then I can invite you and you can see what I have done. Also, how can we find exactly where Charles and Susannah lived in Louth which Charles was born, also what house they lived in at Thiddlethorpe. Also are you sure John (1817-?) was born in 1901? If so I think I have found a photo of his gravestone! I have hundreds of questions!  ;D
Kindest regards, Joshua
