1851 census Abbotsbury COMPLETED
« on: Wednesday 05 November 08 12:38 GMT (UK) »
Please could someone look up the 1851 census for Abbotsbury for me.

I'm looking for George Boatswain born 1808, his wife Elizabeth born 1806 and children William 1834, John 1838, George 1842, Charles 1844, Mary 1847 and David 1849.

I know they were all living in Abbotsbury but I've been unable to find them under the name of Boatswain.

Many thanks,
Dijon

Thank you Tati,

Where did you find it?
I've looked under the spelling for Boatswain on 1901, GenesReunited and Ancestry and the family didn't come up, even with different spellings.

Thank you nanny jan I found the site you mentioned earlier and it's a must for anyone researching Abbotsbury.
There is also a site for earlier research, Transcripts of Abbotsbury Documents from Andy Poore's Interpretative Stategy for Abbotsbury.
This is very interesting.

Dijon  :)

The handwriting is a bit hard to read - could be mistaken for Boatwain I suppose  ;)
