Walker Johnson "Broomsthorpe" area 1790's-1838???
« on: Thursday 03 February 05 15:08 GMT (UK) »
Anyone else searching for this man? ???

He was my Great Great Great Grandfather married Mary Robertson 1820 in East Raynham.

I simply cannot find "hide nor hair" of him prior to the marriage or after the marriage!

I am looking for his baptism and who his parents were, and the baptisms of his children?

Walker, his wife Mary, and their children emigrated to Canada in around 1836 so they do not show up on the 1841 Census.

Anyone offering help or suggestions.. most welcome and greatly appreciated! :-\

Hi LUV,

The Norfolk FHS may be able to help you, with both of your family names, always worth a try!

Good Luck,

Frances

There was a family using this name in Stanhoe and another in Swaffham in 1851 so Stanhoe could be a place to look.  You ask about the baptisms of his children, if you know the dates of birth of his children you could check the registers of the three Raynhams as well as Helhoughton, Tattersett & Rudham to see if they were baptised there.

Broomsthorpe is not really a village and as such, people who lived there could have gone to any one of half a dozen villages to baptise their children.

Did he not give any clues to family in Norfolk in any of his documents over there?

I live in Mid-Norfolk and know the area quite well.
