Hi Guys
I think this one is going to be a real challenge. This photo was emailed to me from my great grand mothers sisters great grand daughter. I have just recently discovered that my great grandmothers father was from singapore and married in New South Wales.
Nothing is known about the photo, only where is was found.
Hope you can help.

Hello Kish
If you want this restored/coloured you really need a scan at 300dpi. this is only 96 & the resolution isn't too good.If you want a date it's better to show all of the card & reverse. At first glance this looks to be 1880's the lady seems to be in some sort of psuedo uniform & probably the girl's nanny. Also it's a good idea to say what it is you want us to do.

Thank you for trying to restore it. Unfortunately I dont have the original as this was emailed to me.
The main reason for posting the photo was to get a possible date so I could work out who the little girl was and how old she might be as I know the lady wouldnt be family, but the little girl may be.
The photo was possibly taken in Moama/Echuca NSW.

Hi Kish...I am not a restorer but I can guess that this rescan either isn't any higher resolution, or it has been highly compressed. It is actually a little smaller than the first version you posted.
Could you please ask for a 300 dpi scan with no compression? If it's too big to post, PM somebody here and they will post it for you.
Also could you please ask for the whole photo including the corners of the backing? You would be surprised at how many little clues we use for dating
Cheers,
China
