Trying to find Gt. Grandad George Tilson's WW1 Records
« on: Sunday 09 November 08 14:47 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Not sure if you can help with this one but hopefully someone can give it a go!

I am trying to track down the pension or service records for my hubby's great grandad who served during WW1.
His name was George Tilson, born 1886, Leicestershire but living near Lichfield, Staffs in 1914. I have found a possible medal card through ancestry but can't be sure its him. This suggests a regiment no of 33499 Royal Fus and 62782 Lab. Corps.
Family stories suggest he may have been injured and had a metal plate in his head as a  result, but I don't know whether this is the caseand this is why I thought there might be a pension record for him.
Any help or pointers would be gratefully received.
thanks.
Mel
