1891 census lookup

Hi:

This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but can anyone find Robert BROOKER b 1845 in Dorking, Surrey in the 1891 census?

In 1881 he was the manager at the station rooms, living at Cripley Road, Oxford, with wife Emily b 1849 in East Hampstead and children R.E.M. female 5, A.R.W. male 3, M.F. female 2 and F.D. Brooker male, 6 mths.

I'm actually interested to see who else is with them as it's a person living with them in 1881 I'm looking for.

I'm not 100% sure if the Brookers are the head household, or the place itself is a boarding house as the person I'm interested in (J.E. MELDRUM, age 20, born Hartlepool), is an Inn Servant.  There are a lot of people living at this same address.

Hi Linda,

Emily is remarried to a John W Moir in 1891, living in Warwickshire. Other than Emily and John, there are only the 4 Brooker children in the household.

Well so much for the Brooker connection, but thanks anyway.

Now for the Jannie - would explain why she was J.E. in 1881.  That girl does move about alot!

Living on her own means though, doubtful.

Can I go "whole hog" and see if she is available in 1901??

This looks like her. She has married her married name is King  details below, but living with them is James' mother in law Sarah Meldrum.
If says that Jennie was also known as Jennie Meldrum.
