Burials/MIs Largs - Hill/Lamont
« on: Tuesday 11 November 08 13:47 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find death, burial or MI information for my 4xgt grandparents David Hill and Helen Lamont.  I think they both died pre-1855 (no deaths for them on SP).  Hopefully someone out there will be able to find out something for me.

I am also looking for their son Robert Hill, my 3xgt grandfather and his wife Janet Spiers.  Robert died 4 june 1883 and Janet died 24 December 1887.  They both died in Largs.

I know it is a long shot, but I am hoping a MI (if one exists) might provide some information about some of the "missing" children in both families as well.

Thanks for that Scully

The Bath Street David Hills look very promising (father and son possibly) as from censuses they seem to have lived in Bath Street for many years.  I also think Helen Lamont is probably mine too.  If only she had died in 1855, I might have been able to find out exactly who her parents were!  Not  sure about the other David Hill, but will make a note in case i can make a connection one day.

Again, thanks for taking the time to look for them.

Glad to try and help. I have had a lot of help myself  from people on Rootschat.
It,s just a pity they were not from Ayr, as i have about 9 books for MI,s in Ayr.
