James John Bell 1836 baptism lookup please-St Mary's Carlisle?

I would be over-the-moon and forever grateful if someone could find my Great Great Grandfather's baptism.

On the 1841 Census for the borough of Carlisle, in the township of Rickergate, Toler Lane;

James was 5 years old,  born within the county of Cumberland,

His father was Walter Bell aged 40, occupation: stone mason and born in Scotland,

Walter's wife was Margaret Bell also aged 40, and born in Scotland,

Margaret's father John Aitken aged 75 born in Scotland also lived in the same household.

I have searched the I.G.I unsuccessfully for James.

I think they were of Presbyterian faith

Hi Charles
Have you found James in a later census which will give the actual place of birth?   As the IGI is not full coverage by any means then you may need to look at some of the parish records that are not on it.

They were in Scotland in 1851

Glasgow Rd, Bothwell, Lanarks
Walter BELL 57 Mason, Annan Dumfries
Margaret 55 Kilpatrick Dumfries
James 15 England

Hi Andrea, thanks for you reply.
On the 1851 Census James was living with his parents in Bothwell, Lanarkshire. James was a 15 year old pupil teacher stating he was born in England, he then moved onto Jordanhill college in Glasgow and passed his scholarship. James then became a Free church teacher in Ecclefechan, Mouswald (Dumfriesshire) and Crocketford in kirkcudbrightshire.

Hi Jeff, thanks,  I was just sending Andrea a reply about the 1851 census with the same information.
I have all the information after this date.
Any suggestions about James been born in Cumberland, England in 1836?
I have visited the archives a couple of times in Carlisle over the past few years and have not found him anywhere.
