What was Samuel's age and occupation.

Can't see a Samuel SUMMERS with wife Lydia and son George, but there is a James SUMMERS with wife Lydia and son George.

1851
22 Silver St, Kensington, Middlesex
James SUMMERS, head mar 51, Shoemaker, born Devon, Kenton
Lydia SUMMERS, wife mar 52, born Devon, Dawlish
George SUMMERS, son unm 20, Tailor, born ditto
John SUMMERS, son unm 13, born Middlesex, Kensington
HO107/1468/672/3

They should be in Kensington, London.

The IGI has a submitted baptism for George, 5 May 1830 at Dawlish in Devon, parents Samuel and Lydia. This would need to be checked against the original registers.

The 1851 census definitely says James, which must be wrong, because the IGI also has a marriage for Samuel SUMMERS and Lydia MENEAR, 14 Jul 1821 at Kenton.

The IGI has a number of other children from 1822 to 1833, all bapt at Dawlish, parents Samuel and Lydia. Can't find them in 1841 either, but can find some of them in 1851, in Kensington also. Charles aged 25, a shoemakers man, born Dawlish is living in Portobello Road, Kensington.

Thanyou Ian for the information, I think also that the 1851 census should be Samuel not James. Could you give me the details for the other children on the 1851 census if its not too much trouble.
