Hello Clouder..

I am having the same trouble finding graves in London, so i went to Tower Hamlets archives and i was told that the only way i would get any infomation on burials in London is to go to the London Archives  in Farringdon.

The address is:

London Archives
Northampton Road
Farringdon.

Nearest Tube is Farringdon.

I was also told that i could go too the below cemerties but i need to book an appointment with them first. As there is seven main cemerties that cover the whole of London, and some let you research some don't.

Brookwood Cemetery
Surrey
Date reg ca 1854
Can't search yourself.

City of London Cemetery
London E12
Original register 1856 at the cemetery: copy 1856-1915 at Guildhall Library
Search yourself "YES"

East London Cemetery
London E13
Burial Reg at cemetery
Can not search these records 1874

Manor park Cemetery
Manor Park
Must write to view these records
1874
Search yourself "NO"

Tower Hamlets Cemetery
London E7
All at the London Archives 1841-1965
Search yourself "YES"
Cemetery is in a poor state, visited there myself and could not beleave the state it was in. Broken Headstones, Headstones laying on the floor, and it was more like a forest then a Cemetery

Victoria Park Cemetery
Bethnal Green
Records at the London Archives
1853-1876
Search yourself "YES"

Woodgrange Cemetery
London E7
Records at the cemetery
ca 1900
Search yourself "YES"

Hope this helps you
steve

Is it true that all of the London Metropolitan Archives Records are going on-line after Christmas?

And will Burial Records be included? (Does anyone know).

Hi Sue

This may help eliminate or confirm,  the City of London Cemetery Index to Burials is online here

http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/Corporation/LGNL_Services/Community_and_living/Deaths_funerals_and_cremations/burial_registers.htm

The link is near to the bottom of the page, when you search you can only do so by date, not name.
