Birth Record for Edward Swetman IOW - Lookup

I am desperately trying to determine who the parents of Edward Swetman are as well as his actual birth date. What I do know is he married Jane Davis on 1st May 1825, West Cowes,Northwood. His son Edward was born 27th August 1826 and he married Eliza Hale so would appreciate it if anyone is able to look up his birth for me - I have some possible years 1793, 1801 and 1808

all born in county

*40 = between 40 and 44 in theory, but ages are notoriously wrong on the 1841 census

In 1851, Edward sr's age is 58 (he's living just a few doors away from Edward jr and family). Let me know if you want the full details.

The Edward Sweetman born ca. 1808 according to IGI submitted records (father Michael) seems to be a different person altogether, a smith married to a lady named Harriet.

Hi thanks for the info and the replies. I had found most of it, but this business of carrying the father's name down can make things rather confusing. Edward Jnr was born in 1826 and then there is another Edward Sweetman born at the beginning of 1827 so have managed to work that one out.My Edward was a shipwright and the other became a brewer and own the Sweetman brewery in Ryde,but I had been hoping at some stage to be able to locate a parish record to finally confirm Edward senior's parents and birth, but suspect that the 1793 date is the most likely and now will have to try and follow that line back as I had done a fair bit on the other one.

Did you have any success in finding anymore details on Edward Swetman? Eliza Elizabeth Hale was my 2nd great grand aunt..I've just started to research her life.

Hi Joanne

Apologies for not seeing your query. Would love to link up I have a little more info on Edward Jnr and Eliza Hale. I have a scanned copy of their marriage certificate. And haven't yet found too much out on the Hale line. I think Eliza had two brothers James and John. Her father was James and was a gardener and her mother was either Jane/Ann. Off hand I can't remember where I got that from as it as been a while but think it may have come from the parish records.
