Welcome to Rootschat but I think you'll need to order his birth certificate to find out exactly where they family lived.

IGI shows 3 children to a Patrick McDonagh and Bridget McCaffrey born in Co. Fermanagh (see www.familysearch.org for details): William 1864, Elizabeth 1872, Susan 1874. However, you can't be sure this is the same family.

Information on death certificate is given by an informant not the deceased so his age there might not be accurate. Have you found him in any census records in Scotland?

It could be that the surname is a different spelling of McDonagh or has been mis-transcribed. Don't give up yet. If all else fails you'll have to wait for 1911 Scottish census to see what age is listed.
