i know this is a long shot
but have been searching for daniel guilmarten born c 1836 and julia guilmarten c 1836 and their daughter fanny c 1884
they stated on the 1881 census of whitechapel, london RG11/72/43
that they were born ireland
i was told they were born in cork.
does anybody have any info on them before they moved to england.

Does 1881 census list daughter Fanny? or was she born after 1881 (1884 according to your post). If Fanny's on the 1881 census when and where was she born (Ireland?). Have you checked later census records (1891, 1901) to see if any other birthplace is listed?

on the 1871 census
RG10/506/23/42.
daniel and julia state born in cork, ireland
their elder daughter honorah aged 10 in 1871 also states born in cork.
she is my great grandmother
so they must have come over to england between 1861-1871

If daughter Hannah was born c1861 in Cork and Fanny c1864 in Shoreditch they porbably came to England bet.1861-1864. Unfortunately civil registration of births in Ireland started in 1864 so it doesn't look like there will be any birth certificates and civil registration of Catholic marriages started the same year.
To trace the family in Ireland (church records, etc.) you need to know where they lived. 'Cork' could be the city or the county.

o.k. thanks aghadowey
unfortunately i do not know exactly whereabouts in cork they were from
looks like this is going to remain a brickwall for now
i was in touch with a descendent of fanny who was also looking to find out more about daniel and julia
she had gone into the idea of using a geneologist to find out for her but the price they were going to charge was to much for her.
again thanks.
