I am trying to find the family of my grandfather's brother, David JONES, who was born at Piddington, Northants in 1878/9 and later settled at Ramsey in Essex.
In 1901 David was single and a gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery, stationed at Sandguard Fort in Felixstowe. During WWI he was hit in the face by shrapnel, leaving him badly scarred above the top lip.
I don't know when David and his family settled at Ramsey in Essex. An Aunt tells me his wife was called Lizzie and they had a daughter called Kate. I can't find a marriage in Northampton between 1901 and 1920 that fits and the only birth registration I can find is for David's niece, Kate Dorothy JONES. I realise both the marriage and the birth of Kate could have happened anywhere!
Please can anyone help fill in the gaps?
