Looking to find any information on Jane Wilson, who married Patrick O'Hara on 22nd august 1873.

What type of info. are you seeking on Jane and Patrick? Do you have their marriage certificate from ScotlandsPeople (http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk) or just from the extracted entry on the IGI? Getting their marriage certificate would give you her age, residence and parents' names. Wilson is quite a popular name in the Ayrshire area so it would really help you to find her background.

There is also a death for a Jane O'Hara/Wilson in Ayr in 1901. She's aged 46 years old. This would also give you parents' names, but they may be less reliable as it would be up to the informant to know and remember the correct details.

I have a printout of their marriage certificate. It says she was 20 when she married in 1873 and her mother was Ann Wilson a farm labourer.

The death I mentioned for 1901 isn't the correct one. That Jane was born O'Hara, married a Mr. Wilson. I wish SP would stop those ones appearing!

Can't see anything for Patrick or Jane in 1881. Do you have details of children? None showing on the IGI, but they could have been born after 1874 - 1875 (where the IGI index stops).

Yes, Patrick and Jane had a number of children namely...Patrick, James, Annie, Winifred, Michael, Mary, John and Francis, who incidentally were all born in Carluke. I have a second cousin who cannot find any more information on Jane either. No date of birth or fathers name.

Ahhhh, found them now. I was still searching in Ayrshire.

Although Jane gives an approx. birth date of 1855, her birth may have just came before the start of civil registration and landed in 1854. There may be no record of birth for her, so best chance to find her mother's details would be to try the 1861 census. As for her father, you may never know who he was. A shame she did not mention anyone on the marriage cert. ... that could have gave you some clues.

There is a fantastic clue on Jane's death record. She died 4th January 1933 at Westend, Law, Carluke. Her parents are given as Michael Smith, general labourer (dec.) and Annie Smith, m.s. Wilson (also dec.). Son, Patrick O'Hara, of 51 Brownlie Road, Law, registered her death.

It's possible that Michael was her step-father, but definitely worth researching.
