Felix Davies-undertaker [Completed]
« on: Friday 21 November 08 15:37 GMT (UK) »
A funeral reported in a local newspaper for Gelligaer in 1906 stated Mr Felix Davies was the undertaker and supplied the hearse and mourning coaches.  Can someone please help locate him on the 1901 census.

thanks

The only one I can find in 1901 is

High St Bargoed gelligaer Glam

I.Felix Davies Boarder U 31 Builder b Brecon
in the household of Edward Evans (Commission agent) and family
RG13 5022 136 17

?????????

You could look in Historical Directories -sometimes Undertakers are listed along with joiners.

I know there used to be a Davies undertakers in Bargoed - as when I lived in bargoed (1980's) we were friendly with an Arthur davies (who would be abt 70 yrs of age then) whose father had been the local undertaker.
I still have Arthur's father's silk top hat -which Arthur gave to me to wear to a Bob Dylan concert!!!!!!!!!!

(always have an unususal hat to wear when going to see Bob!!!) LOL!
