THANK YOU

to Jim, Terry, China and Paula - all your help is very much appreciated!
Terry - thanks for the lovely tidy up - super job!
Paula thanks for your guess at period. We thought it might be roughly 1900, but thought we would see what the eagle-eyed Rootschatters thought as well

China - thank you for the link. At the top of your link photo is a T-junction, and Longbrook Street runs across to left from there. The older photo is actually taken looking down that road. The more recent snap was taken in the 60's or 70's, by which time new houses had been built were some of the old cottages appear in our snap. (My Mum & Dad live in Longbrook Street now, and the photo I loaded up is one of my Mums collection of the old village.)
Jim - unfortunately the copy we have is an obvious reproduction postcard of the original image. It has been badly cropped, cutting off the writing at the bottom which part of says "Longbrook Street", but not enough remains to work out the rest. Nothing on reverse, no photographers name - a shame, but we have not seen this image before, so it had to be purchased!
Many thanks to you all for your help, my Mum will be most pleased!
