School at 33 Brunswick Square Hove
« on: Saturday 05 February 05 15:42 GMT (UK) »
An ancestor, Amy Lewin, was at the above school in 1871 according to the Census. (aged 15, born in India)

Can anyone tell me the name of the school or anything about it please?

Hi Barbara,

According to the Post Office Directory, it was a ladies boarding school in 1878, run by Miss Josephine Coble Gilbertson.  I'm afraid I don't know anything of its history.

Thank you for that. The confirmation that it was a boarding school is helpful.
